Assistant Teacher: Katy Chisman

Teacher Katy is an Assistant Teacher at Under the Trees Forest Preschool. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and is now raising her family there! She loves beng outdoors, whether that is at the coast or hiking in the Gorge.

She has a decade of experience working with children from all different walks of life. Five of those years were in the Parkrose School district in their schools as well as their afterschool program. The other five years she worked as a nanny and then became a mother herself! Katy also has first hand experience caring for someone with Type 1 Diabetes, and brings that knowledge with her to Under the Trees Forest Preschool.

She is a mom to two children. Her daughter is going off to Kindergarten, but attended Under the Trees Forest Preschool last year and loved it! You will often see her son tag along when she is teaching as well.
